Coach HQ

Everything you need to teach the AI-Builder roadmap: three ready-to-present decks with coach notes on every slide, and three Google Colab practicals where kids run real code and test each step.

🧭 MillionRoots Learn · three levels

Level 1 · Foundations — you're here · roadmap
Level 1.5 · Agents (how agents work) — roadmap
Level 2 · Weeks 2–5 (Agent Track)site · Coach HQ

The whole workshop at a glance

Before you start

  1. Get a free Gemini API key (you and each student) at aistudio.google.com/apikey — free, no credit card. Every practical uses it.
  2. Present the deck: open a session deck below and press S for Speaker View — your coach notes, a timer, and the next slide appear in a second window. Press F for fullscreen, arrow keys to move.
  3. Open the notebook in Colab: download a session's .ipynb, then in colab.research.google.com choose File → Upload notebook and pick it. (Kids run cells top to bottom.)
🔒 One safety rule to repeat

An API key is a password. Tell students never to paste it into a public doc, a group chat, or GitHub. Session 3 covers safety in full.

🖨️ Printable run-sheets

Want a one-page cue sheet per session — running clock, prep checklist, and what to say at each block? Open the Facilitator Run-Sheets and print (or save as PDF).

The three sessions

Session 1 · Stations 1–3

Foundations: How AI actually works

What is this? · Meet the models · Talk to AI with code

Session 2 · Stations 4–6

Building: Making AI useful

Prompt engineering · Give AI a memory (RAG) · AI agents

Session 3 · Stations 7–9

Real-World: Senses, safety & shipping

Beyond text: images & sound · Safety & ethics · Your builder toolkit

Tip · Running the room

Keep the energy on the "prove it" moments

The magic isn't the slides — it's the second a student's own code prints a reply. Get everyone to each ✅ checkpoint, then pull them back. Pair up kids so no one is stuck alone on a setup error, and keep the free Gemini key handy on the board.

Prefer self-study? Every session maps to the interactive roadmap and its deep-dive lessons — students can read first, then come to the workshop to build.
